Emotional Freedom Technique

Updated: Oct 4, 2019

So you have more than likely heard me talk or actually rave about EFT (emotional freedom technique) otherwise known as Tapping. Well in this blog I explain what exactly EFT is and how you can incorporate it into your daily life.

EFT can be used for literally anything. Pain, blocks, limiting beliefs, emotional release. guidance etc. So anything physical, emotional or performance based.

It is commonly known that any emotional issue (which can come from trauma, pain and a variety of causes )has significant impact on natural healing process for the body. Emotional Freedom technique is a universal tool that can be used for healing.

EFT is a form of acupuncture. Minus the needles

EFT combines the physical benefits of acupuncture with the cognitive benefits of conventional therapy for a much faster, more complete treatment of emotional issues, and the physical and performance issues that often result.

About 5,000 years ago, the Chinese discovered a complex system of energy circuits that run throughout the body. These energy circuits ... or meridians as they are called ... are the centerpiece of Eastern health practices and form the basis for modern day acupuncture, acupressure and a wide variety of other healing techniques. These meridians are like a circuit that the energy runs through. By tapping on the certain points you are able to experience some magnificent changes in your emotional and physical state.

The foundation of EFT has come from Mind body connection and a mix of acupuncture both of which have decades of scientific studies supporting them.

First we start out with a set up statement and this is done by tapping on the karate chop point .

Lets start with thinking about the problem you are wanting to resolve. Close your eyes and get as

clear about what it is your are struggling with. Now feel where that sits in your body. Then rate this problem on a scale of 1 being not to strong and 10 as extreme.

Start with the set up statement on the karate chop point x3 Even though I feel ___________I fully love and accept myself.

We then move on to the meridian points as per the previous picture using pressure but being gentle. Tap on each point using firstly a

negative round to really focus on the problem. We don't necessarily need to relive an event just get get clarity around what it is you are wanting to resolve. Using your own wording will get you more into the moment and resonating with your feelings. Tapping 5-7 times on each point.

Use phrases such as This Anxiety, this pain, these feeling, this shame, this disappointment. As you work through it use things that come up. Nothing is wrong. Say what is on your heart even if it is

harsh you really need to get in touch with the emotions.

Then we go into the Positive round. Once you become more practiced with this you will just flow from one round to another.

Now once you are feeling the positives start to come in start tapping saying the positive phrases that come up for you. Some suggestions are: I have faith in my ability to change, I am ready to break free from this I love the person I am I am worthy of _____ I enjoy the calm and peace I have I am shining my light I am making the changes I release the patterns Also remember that you need to add that you will take it a day at a time. TAKE IN A DEEP BREATH AND THEN RELEASE.

You can use this technique for so many areas. Actually anything you want. Anxiety, stress, emotions, addictions, pain, illness and the list goes on.
